Accounts & invoicing

From the fee booked to the invoice sent.

Fees, retainers and expenses are booked against the matter, shared into the firm's pools, and invoiced on your own letterhead.

Receipts

Book the fee against the work

Every fee record knows its total, what has come in and what is still owed.

  • Receipts for jobs, monthly retainers and team members
  • Monthly retainers can book themselves every month
  • Referral percentage and referrer on the record
  • Off-system clients and matters can be booked too
  • Receipt numbers on every payment

Pools

Share every fee the way your partnership does

A fee stays out of the pools until someone pushes it in. Then its local and global shares are set aside, at 10% and 5% by default, and you can change the split in settings.

Local and global pools

Office-level and firm-level pools, with balances on the dashboard.

Expenses

Job or office expenses, local or global, operational or capital, with expense heads and payment method.

Recoverable costs

Mark an expense recoverable and record the recoveries against it.

Yearly watch

Look back over 3, 6 or 12 months, or a window you choose.

Access

Accounts are opened deliberately

Seeing the firm's money is its own permission, separate from seeing its cases.

  • Accounts access per person: none, chosen offices, or the whole firm
  • Accounts roles: management partner, accountant and clerk
  • Clerks work in expenses only
  • Every accounts change is logged with what it was before and after
